Alfonso Hüppi participated twice (1972 and 1977) in the documenta in Kassel (GER).
His works are to be found in numerous renowned collections. In 2015 he was awarded the art Karlsruhe Prize and in 2017 the Erich Heckel Prize of the Künstlerbund Baden-Württemberg.
Alfonso Hüppi’s work material is primarily the untreated wood and casein paint. His artistic breakthrough came in the 1960s with his famous palette works.
Add or remove breaks the surface. Recently, in addition to large-scale wooden palisades different wall objects were accomplished. His creation also comprehends also works on paper, an extensive graphic work and architecture-related spatial designs.
