Shortly after the book “SELLIA Notizen – Zeichnungen – Malerei” was published by modo Verlag Freiburg, GALERIE K presents the painter Dirk Sommer and the photographer Bernhard Strauss in the HAUS DER MODERNEN KUNST in Staufen.
Dirk Sommer (born in 1954 in Darmstadt, GER) lives in March-Hugstetten and on the Isle of Crete. His colorful, partly abstract drawings and paintings are inspired by the village Sellia and its inhabitants, on the south coast of the island.
A broader view of the village is given by Bernhard Strauss´photographs taken during a stay in Crete. Bernhard Strauss was born in Freiburg, where lives and works.
