N. Stäglich’s artistic work combines painting and sculpture in a special way. She develops her sculptural works out of the surface, be it in reliefs, spiraling out of the wall or hanging from the ceiling. In the “neon, dux and comes” MDF sculptures, geometric surfaces are combined with contrasting color surfaces. This creates color spaces, which expand into the real space and correspond with it. This phenomenon is also evident in the series “Transparencies”: square acrylic glass wall sculptures, whose back is painted with oil paint and cast shadows on the wall.
